Montauk Highway, with its wineries and farm stands, is the region’s main artery. Its eastern terminus is Montauk, a popular spot for surfing and fishing. You’ll also find many seafood shacks and an iconic lighthouse here.

    During the warm, summer months, the weekends are always busy here. This is when thousands leave NYC and pour into the Hamptons. The Golf Classic, Art Southampton, the Hampton Classic Horse Race and East Hampton Library’s Authors Night take place during this time.


    The Hamptons is home to a number of communities devoted to agriculture and fishing. Many farms still operate in the area and there are three commercial vineyards operating in the Hamptons as well.
